Welcome to my world of art.
I would like to share with you some of my interests. I really love the art that was created by nature, such as this lovely butterfly.
In our world of high technology and stressful living we all need time to relax and enjoy. I find art and music not only relaxing but
aesthetically very satisfying. Art is defined as deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses and emotions.
The oldest surviving art forms date back to prehistoric times, earlier than 40,000 years ago. Paintings have been found on rocks and in caves. They were painted pictures of their everyday life, such as hunting wild game. Prehistoric refers to those cultures which have left no written records of their society.
The great traditions in art have a foundation in the art of the six great ancient civilizations: Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, Rome, India or China. In modern times the separation of cultures is increasingly blurred and it is now more appropriate to think in terms of a global culture, rather than regional cultures.
This Web site contains a gallery of drawings that were generated in an art class as regular art assignments. The next page deals with my interests and goals. In this section I cover my love for music. I discuss the guitar and the piano. On the contact page I provide my e-mail address for comments or questions.
